Jewish Family Services exists to strengthen families and support individuals in need. We are dedicated to enhancing Jewish family and communal life. We do this through social services and in fields including case management, mental health care, vocational guidance, family life education, refugee resettlement, advocacy, and protective services. We believe in the dignity of each individual and the right to affordable, professional, and confidential services. As populations and needs change, we revise our service responses. We are committed to providing excellent service to a diverse population while maintaining a special sensitivity to clients whom we can best serve because of our understanding of Jewish life and values.
Restore Balance to Your Life
Jewish Family Services was created in 1935 by the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation to meet the social service needs of the Jewish community. Before that, the work was done by volunteers who would meet regularly to determine how to respond to the needs they saw in the community. Jewish Family Services is committed to caring for all people. It does so with an understanding of Jewish values and an awareness of the uniqueness of each individual and their situation. Every person is treated with respect, confidentiality, and careful attention.
Jewish Family Services is located at 517 Gypsy Lane and sits on an 18-acre campus that provides a wide array of services and resources for every stage of life, including Jewish Community Center, Levy Gardens Assisted Living Facility and Heritage Manor Rehabilitation & Retirement Community. Our hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Jewish Family Services is an agency of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation.
