Bench Honors Late Levy Gardens Tenant

Joseph Levy lived at Levy Gardens Assisted Living for two years before passing away in July.

Donations made in memory of Joseph Levy enabled the purchase of a bench placed near his garden at Levy Gardens Assisted Living. Pictured from left are Levy’s girlfriend Margaret Klein and his brother Morris Levy.

“We received quite a few donations in memory of Joe,” said Sara Miller, Levy Gardens director. “We purchased a bench to put in the back of Levy Gardens in front of a little bare area where Joe spent much of his time planting flowers and perennials to make his own little garden while he was living here.”

Also upon his passing, the Joseph Levy Endowment was created with funds that he left the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation. That fund will be used for local regional Jewish youth scholarships for Jewish sponsored athletic programming. For more information about the fund, or about setting up a legacy plan, contact Lisa Long, Federation financial resource development director, at llong@jewishyoungstown.org or 330.746.3250 ext. 175.
