About us

The idea for a cemetery association came about in 2010 when Temple El Emeth realized they needed help with their cemetery. It soon became clear the other local temples needed help, as well. Plans began being made in earnest in 2017. The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation came onboard, matching the funds contributed by each synagogue.

Today, the Youngstown Area Jewish Cemeteries Association includes Beth Israel Cemetery, Congregation Ohev Tzedek Cemetery, Temple Anshe Emeth Cemetery, Children of Israel Cemetery, Knox Street Cemetery, and Temple Emanu-EL Cemetery.

The Youngstown Area Jewish Cemeteries Association took ownership of them November 1, 2021.
