Temple Anshe Emeth Cemetery
Temple Anshe Emeth – “Men of Truth” – was founded in 1919 as a congregation that was Conservative in practice and Orthodox in ritual. They became an affiliate of the United Synagogues of America. The first meetings were held at the Young Men's Hebrew Association and religious classes were held at the Elm Street Elementary School. The congregation built a permanent home at Elm and Park Streets in Youngstown. The building was sold in 1972 or 1973 when Anshe Emeth merged with Emanu-EL.
The Anshe Emeth Cemetery is located in the city of Youngstown Granada Avenue at the intersection of Guadalupe Avenue. A pedestrian gate, next to the main gate, is always open to provide access to the cemetery.
