Rachel Loew Lipman

Rachel Loew Lipman is one of Maryland’s youngest head winemakers, with more than a decade of experience in the wine industry. As a fifth generation winemaker and the grandchild of a Holocaust Survivor, Rachel is dedicated to preserving her family’s 150-year winemaking legacy while sharing her grandfather’s story of survival. She has led the launch of Maryland’s first kosher wine and mead production, created award-winning wines and meads, and overseen the winery’s expansion. In 2023, Governor Wes Moore
appointed her to the Maryland Agricultural Commission. She also serves as Vice President of the Maryland Wineries Association and 3GDC.
She earned degrees in Horticulture & Crop Production and Communications from the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as a Winemaking certification from Washington State University. Today, she serves as Fifth Generation Winemaker and General Manager of her family’s winery, Loew Vineyards, in Mt. Airy, Maryland.
