Sam Kooperman Endowment Application
Deadline for camp scholarships: Dec. 31
Deadline for study in Israel scholarships: Dec. 31 and June 30
Sam has a love for the Jewish community and especially, its teens and young adults, with whom he began his social service career. He is passionate about Jewish experiential programming, particularly trips to Israel and Jewish sponsored overnight camps. As a tribute and honor to Sam, the Federation Board of Directors established the “Sam Kooperman Endowment.” Dual purposes of the fund are 1) to provide scholarships for Jewish overnight camping experience for Jewish youth; and 2) to provide scholarships for Jewish young adults to study in Israel. In both cases, it is for those who reside in the Mahoning and Shenango Valley region. Consideration can be made for an applicant whose family reside in the region, but is not guaranteed.
There is competition for these funds and no expectation should be made as to full coverage of program fees from the Endowment. In addition to this application please see the links listed at the end of this application for other possible sources of support.
Please be thorough when completing the application, attach any other information you think may be helpful in consideration of your request, and return via email or mail to:
