Every six months, Heritage Manor hosts an art show and tea to show off the work of some residents. Susan Jacobs, a local artist, meets with residents twice a month to give them an opportunity to paint. Shai Erez is the newest addition to the Jewish Family Services staff. She will join the staff as an Outreach Worker June 1.
In her role as Outreach Worker, she will make face-to-face contact with members of the Jewish community, primarily those who are 60 and older. She will offer support and assessment, as well as share information about resources available through the Youngstown Jewish Federation and its agencies.more»
Levy Gardens Assisted Living earned a score of 91.3 percent on the Ohio Department of Aging's Resident Satisfaction Survey.
“We are one of the highest rated facilities in Mahoning County,” said Sara Miller, director. “We work hard to ensure our tenants are happy.”
Levy Gardens offers 18 one-bedroom apartments and six two-bedroom apartments with complete kitchens and bathrooms with accessible showers and safety bars. Other amenities include three kosher meals served daily, nursing support as needed, weekly housekeeping and laundry services, group activities, an exercise program with regular on-site classes, and transportation to appointments and shopping excursions.
Every other year since 2007, the Ohio Department of Aging has conducted the survey across the state. All nursing facilities and residential care facilities are required to participate. The department surveys families of long-term care facility residents on alternate years.more»
