The Jewish Community Relations Council’s Social Action Committee kicked off 2022’s Nonviolence Week by participating in the annual parade. Organizations from all over the Valley came together to start the state-recognized week by entering floats decorated with messages of peace, unity, and non-violence. The JCRC’s float’s theme was “sow the seeds of peace” since it was just a few days before Sukkot.
The float was decorated with a sukkah, and participants passed out bags of apple chips and veggie straws with cards that explained the sukkah and Sukkot. The float won first place in the best float contest, for the second year in a row.
